OPJU is India's only university dedicated to Steel Technology with India being the world's second largest producer of steel and is geared towards tripling its production in this decade itself. This huge growth plan has propelled OPJU in aiming to play a crucial role in providing well trained people meet the industry challenges by developing new technologies that can efficiently increase productivity, while building a globally competitive Indian steel industry. The university is determined to continually create resources who can address problems unique to the steel industry, be it in the field of engineering and technology, or the field of management practices. Committed to excellence, OPJU is persistent on delivering industry aligned academic programs by the virtue of its industry focused research, skill development efforts, scholarship, and advocacy initiatives. OPJU takes pride in its curriculum that is extremely contemporary, industry-linked, and is a result of brainstorming efforts of great think tanks: a large number of faculty members, experts from industries, and research level organisations. OPJU has three verticals of School of Engineering, School of Management and School of Science, all delivering future ready study formats and materials that will enable students to be career ready when the time comes. The School of Engineering offers both undergraduate, post-graduate, PhD programs to students who are aspiring to learn and excel in core and service industries. The Engineering School delves deep into learning by doing and has consequently incorporated experiential interventions across all programs.


The faculty of SoE is also engaged in fundamental and applied research, enabling the students to pursue careers in industries, entrepreneurship, startups and research. The School of Management was developed to meet the unique challenges that pose in core industries. All programs have realworld case studies and live projects to prepare the students in the areas of Marketing and Sales, Human Resource Management, Finance, Accountancy, Taxation, Audit, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Operations Management and Family Business Management.
