SRMIST Honors Over 4,000 Graduates from Its Online and Distance Education Programs

SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur, celebrated the graduation of more than 4,000 learners from its Online and Distance Education programs at its 2025 ceremony. Vice Chancellor Prof. C. Muthamizhchelvan praised the graduating batch for redefining learning by integrating education seamlessly into their daily lives. He noted that these learners represent a new future in higher education professionals who gain skills while pursuing careers and managing personal responsibilities.
This year, SRMIST awarded 4,215 degrees and diplomas. Of these, 1,925 students attended the ceremony in person, while 2,290 received their degrees in absentia, reaffirming the university’s commitment to offering accessible education without location barriers. Graduates represented a wide range of programs, including MBA, MCA, Commerce, Arts, Science, and undergraduate degrees in business and technology. The event also honored 50 academic rank holders who excelled across their respective disciplines.
Dr. Manoranjan Pon. Ram, Director of Online Education, highlighted how SRM’s digitally driven teaching model is powered by strong academic design, multimedia content, expert faculty, and a robust learning management system. He emphasized that SRMIST’s online programs strictly follow UGC-DEB guidelines and are built for learners seeking career growth, global mobility, or a shift in domain.
