Dassault Systemes Announces Winners of the 13th Edition of AAKRUTI

Dassault Systèmes announced the winners of AAKRUTI 2023, a nationwide product design contest for engineering, design, and technology students in India. AAKRUTI 2023 aimed to provide an opportunity to students all over India to come up with innovative solutions for real-life problems and challenges, both technological and social. The challenge involved three stages preparing product design, design concept submission, and final product submission. The participants created their project submissions virtually through online collaboration enabled by Dassault Systèmes’ cloud-based 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

A total of 8,870 contestants from 23 states all over India participated in AAKRUTI 2023. The competition engaged with 245 colleges and 1,774 teams, out of which 167 teams were all-girls teams. Through this competition, students got the opportunity to explore some of the latest technologies by Dassault Systèmes, including 3DEXPERIENCE Works, SOLIDWORKS, and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

Winners of AAKRUTI 2023

Team Sigma from Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tamil Nadu won AAKRUTI 2023 for designing and fabricating a device for home windows that uses wind energy to generate electricity and will serve as a home décor piece.

Team Design Dynamos from Acropolis Institute of Technology and Research, Madhya Pradesh finished as first runners-up for developing a spinal rehab-chair that enables patients to do multiple exercises while seated in the same device.

Team Alive from Chennai Institute Of Technology, Tamil Nadu won the Special Encouragement Award for an adaptive-inventory management robot that revolutionizes warehouse operations using artificial intelligence and real time data analytics.

Team Kadalikam from Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Maharashtra also won the Special Encouragement Award for designing and developing a banana fiber extraction machine which could be used by farmers with reduced waste and increase in fibre yield while minimizing environmental impact.

Team COSMOPOLITANS from Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Tamil Nadu won the special All Girls Team Award for developing a portable Braille printer with a voice recognition system that can convert both text and voice into Braille text and print it too, empowering the educators that are working with visually challenged people.

Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Tamil Nadu was awarded the Best Participating College with the maximum qualified entries of 520 teams and 2,080 student participants.

It’s an opportunity for them to collaborate with like-minded peers and explore their passion for mobility, energy and other fields of engineering.
