  • Quantum technology courses to roll out statewide to build next-generation tech skills.
  • AI and quantum awareness to start from middle school with early exposure programs.
  • Over 50,000 students to receive skill training by 2026 through structured learning initiatives.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced plans to introduce quantum technology courses for students as part of the state’s push to prepare youth for future-focused careers. The initiative aims to equip students with skills in emerging areas such as quantum computing and artificial intelligence (AI).

Speaking at a meeting in Vijayawada, Naidu said students must be trained early to take advantage of new opportunities in advanced technologies. He stressed that awareness of quantum technology should begin at the school level as Andhra Pradesh works toward becoming a leading knowledge and innovation hub.

During the meeting, representatives from IIT Madras shared proposals to build AI awareness among students using digital platforms. The content will be made available in Telugu, English, and Hindi to ensure wider access. They also presented a four-phase action plan spread over two years, starting next year, to offer structured AI learning and orientation.

Naidu directed officials to introduce basic quantum awareness programs for students in Classes 7, 8, and 9. He also instructed the education department to strengthen digital infrastructure by setting up computer labs in schools and to seek support from the central government where required.
