Now, radios and gramophones are a source of nostalgia for all of us, but there was a time when these were too close to our lives. Realizing its epical demand, in the late 1940s Gordhandas P. Bharwani and his brothers started trading big radios, gramophones and valve radios. Later in 1947, the partition brought them to Mumbai from Pakistan and there they laid the foundation for a portable radio manufacturing factory named Jetking Electronics. To get well placed in the markets of independent India, they had to update themselves and they came with the concept of Do-It-Yourself kits and Pocket Transistors. The right step at the right time made them India's leading manufacturer and seller of radios. However, luck did not favor them all the time and their trial to venture TV manufacturing in 1970s failed. However, G.P. Bharwani's son Suresh Bharwani was not deterred by the failure. He was optimistic all the time and saw this failure as a stepping stone to long term success. He made a start in the field of electronics by pioneering computer hardware and networking training with the establishment of Jetking Info train Limited in 1990, when India was preparing to witness the IT boom.

The first Computer Hardware and Networking center of Jetking was set up in Sewri, South Mumbai. But, the course was priced slightly high and hence had only few takers. "My father Suresh Bharwani took the bold step of reducing the price by half - it bore fruits and soon after
almost 200 students enrolled. The rest, as they say, is history," says Siddarth Bharwani, Jetking's Vice President - Brand and Marketing and a third generation entrepreneur of Bharwani family. Till now, through its network of training centers, more than 700,000 professionals have been educated by Jetking in subjects ranging from basic electronics and computer usage to advanced courses in wireless network administration, firewalls, Linux, and more. Jetking, an ISO 9000-certified company has an impressive record of placing its students in major companies such as IBM, HP, Reliance, Samsung and many more.

"With 100 percent job guarantee at the helm, our unique learning pedagogy is completely aligned with the industry requirements and is designed to ensure holistic development of the student", claims Siddarth. Jetking's career courses include JCHNE+ Cloud (Jetking Certified Hardware & Networking Engineer), MNA+ Cloud (Masters in Network Administration) and Smart Grad+ and the highly demanded technologies including CCNA Security, Cloud technology, Data Center and many more. The learning experience at Jetking helps students to stay ahead of the time. The classroom teaching incorporates modern technology and training tools along with quiz, group discussions and presentations by students for confidence building and holistic development. "As technology progresses, so do the learning methods. We are pleased to pioneer hybrid learning in the educational
field which comprises the best of online and offline learning. Our revolutionary teaching pedagogy involves role-based learning simulation, which is rich for hands-on practical training and maximizes students' participation through experiential learning," claims Siddarth.

For students seeking additional specialized trainings, the institute offers short-term courses like Ethical Hacking, Network Security and so on. A recent venture launched by Jetking called Skill King is an online/virtual training and simulation based e-learning platform that focuses on the employability of students as well as working professionals. Linked to certification outcomes, two of the courses namely, CCNA and IELTS mapped to international certification have already gained popularity in the online education market.

As a mark of acceptance, awards and recognitions are bestowed upon Jetking by esteemed industry bodies and associations such as ASSOCHAM, FICCI and Governments of Maharashtra and Gujarat. "Our proudest moments came when we were honored by the US-based Pike's Peak award for our training methodology and when we bagged an official entry in the Limca Book of Records for the highest job placements by any vocational training institute," says Siddarth. While, Jetking grooms nearly 20,000 students every year to become industry-ready IT professionals, the management has plans to make deep inroads with NSDC to keep aligned with the Skill India mission. Jetking is constantly reinventing and reenergizing itself to provide Digital India the frontline soldiers through computer hardware and network engineering. "Our aim is to expand to 250 centers over the next 3 to 5 years in order to build capacity to train 100,000 students in a year. We are also leveraging technology to facilitate Hybrid learning that enables students to learn at home as well as in classroom," concludes Siddarth.
