Professor Akhilesh Mishra has taken the position of Chairman of the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). As part of his first set of actions, Professor Mishra undertook a thorough review at the NIOS headquarter, directly interacting with heads of departments and top officials. His review was specifically targeted towards the obligatory 6-month Bridge Course that is instrumental for primary school teachers with BEd degrees.
He insisted that the course should be more inclusive and practical to ensure that the learning material is accessible to all the teachers involved.
