  • IN-SPACe to hold Model Rocketry and CANSAT finale in Uttar Pradesh
  • 600 students from 71 teams to compete in space tech challenge
  • Art, quiz contests and 'Antariksh Rath' outreach drew 73,000 students

IN-SPACe, in collaboration with ISRO and the Astronautical Society of India (ASI), will host the Model Rocketry/CANSAT India Student Competition 2024-25 finale from October 27 to 30, 2025 at Tamkuhi Raj, Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh.

The competition aims to give students hands-on experience in building, launching, and recovering model rockets and CANSATs, small satellite like payloads weighing 1 kg, reaching up to 1 km altitude. This real-world simulation helps students develop technical skills in rocketry and mission planning while promoting STEM education at the grassroots.

A total of 71 student teams, involving 600 students, mentors, and faculty from across India, have qualified, 36 teams in the CANSAT category and 35 in Model Rocketry.

Leading up to the event, IN-SPACe and ISRO also held ‘Art-in-Space’ and ‘Space Quiz 20:20’ competitions across seven districts of Uttar Pradesh, engaging 73,000+ students. The 'Antariksh Rath', a mobile science lab featuring rockets, astronaut suits, and space models, is travelling to schools to spark curiosity in space science.

Winners from these outreach contests will be honored at the finale and explore an immersive space habitat module at the venue.
