The International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIITH), in partnership with the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) and IHub-Data, has unveiled a new online course titled 'AI for Medical Professionals.' This 12-week program aims to provide healthcare practitioners with the skills needed to effectively integrate AI technologies into clinical practice, thereby enhancing patient care and streamlining operations.

The course offers a thorough overview, including both theoretical knowledge and hands-on tutorials on AI, machine learning, and deep learning, alongside case studies on their clinical applications such as screening, diagnosis, prognosis, and patient management. Additionally, it addresses the ethical and governance challenges associated with AI in medicine.

Participants will engage with video lectures, weekly interactive sessions, and practical case studies, and will complete quizzes, assignments, and assessments to earn a certificate upon finishing the course.

Approximately 200 medical professionals, including senior faculty and research experts from top medical institutions across India, are currently enrolled. This initiative seeks to bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI advancements and medical practice, cultivating a more knowledgeable and tech-savvy healthcare workforce. The course is led by distinguished faculty from IIITH and NAMS.
