The seminar is also being organized jointly with Central and State government departments and is conceived as a strategic forum to coordinate India's education and innovation infrastructure with the national vision of turning into a complete nation by the centenary of independence in 2047.
As the valedictory speaker, Padma Bhushan awardee and NITI Aayog Member Dr V.K. Saraswat gave the keynote address, highlighting the need for concerted efforts among researchers, academic institutions, and entrepreneurs to take India to self-reliance through innovation. He also pointed to several national initiatives like PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana, Startup India, the Atal Innovation Mission, and the National Innovation and Startup Policy, each meant to cultivate entrepreneurial talent and create a culture of innovation among the young. Dr Saraswat asserted again that solution-based research and entrepreneurship at the grassroots level are central to the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission, which in turn feeds into the overarching Viksit Bharat vision.
GGU Chancellor KVV Satyanarayana Raju was optimistic about India's current development pace and said that the country was on a promising trajectory to lead the world. Pro-Chancellor K Sasi Kiran Varma shared similar optimism by naming Atmanirbhar Bharat as the working mission and Viksit Bharat as the final national aim. The university top brass confirmed their resolve to enhance research infrastructure and build a vibrant academic culture to facilitate this turnaround.
AICTE Vice-Chairperson Dr Abhay Jere emphasized the need for robust research environments in higher education institutions, calling on universities to foster innovation not only within the laboratory but through interdisciplinary and application-based approaches. Dr Jitendra Kumar Sharma, CEO of AMTZ, emphasized the importance of curiosity and observational thinking as the foundation of innovation and technological leaps.
The sessions of the seminar are based on key themes such as future technologies, sustainable growth, and commercialization of research products. The seminar is to end with intensive thematic discourses on concrete strategies for achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
