AICTE Appoints Bhartiya Skill Development University's Dr. Brig. Surjit Singh Pabla As Chairman Of All India Board For Vocational Education

The University is emerging as the best place for the industry to get skilled workers and managers. Brig. SS Pabla, Pro Chancellor of BSDU has recently been appointed as Chairman, All India Board for Vocational Education for three years w.e.f 3rd January 2020.

A mechanical engineer with M.Tech and Ph.D from IIT Bombay, with large experience in multiple infrastructure projects, academics and academic administration, Dr. Pabla has been Vice Chancellor of five universities, Pro VC of one university, President of a Skill Development Campus and Director of two Institutes of
Technology. His experience in the Army, in addition to command of army units, also includes Engineering Professional work and Administration.. He had the privilege of participating in the Indo-Pak war in 1971 as a young Lieutenant.

Currently Pro Chancellor Bharatiya Skill Development University Jaipur, Dr Pabla has had the privilege of establishing the first pure skill development university in the Country. BSDU is emerging as a world class skill development university and is already rated as the best skill Development University in Asia and is rated among the top 10 universities in the Country, in just the second year of its establishment.

Prof Achintya Chaudhary, Vice Chancellor, BSDU said, “Brig. SS Pabla’s appointment as Chairman of All India Board for Vocational Education is an honour and a matter of great prestige and pride for BASU. Dr. Pabla has served many prestigious academic institutions in the Country and has been successful in raising the bar for high level instruction in the academic institutions and universities where he has served”.

Brig Pabla views this appointment as an opportunity to contribute to vocational education at the national level. He said, “I am honored to be appointed as Chairman of All India Board for Vocational Education. I accept this position with great humility and thank Chairman AICTE for trusting me with this responsibility. I also thank Rajendra and Ursula Joshi Group, especially late Dr. Rajendra Joshi for the faith they have displayed in me for raising a world class Skills University in India”.
