With an inspiring history that traces back to 1938, Sri Venkateswara Engineering College (SVES) is an institution sponsored and managed by the Exhibition Society of Hyderabad. Owing to the forthrightness of few graduates from Osmania University who incepted an exhibition in 1938, lies the foundation of the Exhibition Society which is the parent organization of SVES. Since then, the Exhibition Society hosts its flagship event called the All India Industrial Exhibition from 1st January to 15th February every year in Hyderabad, attended by more than 20 lakh people. The money generated from this has been used to establish 18 educational institutions throughout Telangana, amongst which Sri Venkateswara Engineering College (SVES) stands apart. Voyaging in its 23rd year at present, SVES has emerged to be a premium engineering college of the country by the virtue of its holistic approach towards imparting technical education and modern infrastructure.

An ISO 9001 Certified Institution
Situated on a very spacious campus of about 15 acres, SVES has been able to ascend to one of the top-notch engineering colleges of the country by ensuring state-of-the-art Labs equipped with 400 plus latest computer systems along with a networking internet facility. With more than 120 staff who are prolifically trained, the institution is currently offering currently five B.Tech courses across
Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science Engineering streams, each with 60+ intake.

“We also offer two 3-year diploma courses which are conducted by the Telangana State Technical Education Board in the Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering. Apart from being affiliated to the Jawaharlal Nehru Technology University, Hyderabad (JNTU Hyderabad), we are also an ISO 9001 certified institution. In addition to regular classroom teaching, we also emphasize on the holistic development of the students by working on their soft skills including English communication by conducting, conferences, seminars, and webinars. Despite being in a semi-rural area, we leave no stones unturned to help our students achieving success by competing parallelly with other students of the country,” says Mudraganam Chandrashekar, Hon. Secretary and Correspondent, SVES.

Enriching the Lives of Budding Engineers
Attached with the institution since the past 15 years, M Chandrashekar has been a key witness to the journey of SVES, instilling visionary outlook and wisdom amongst the students to make them responsible citizens of the future to contribute to the development of the country.

“With an active placement cell headed by an experienced Placement Officer, last year, we have placed almost 80% of our students in very well-known and reputed companies in Hyderabad. We are hopeful of achieving 100% placement this year, as we have been training our students in soft skills as well as industry-specific subjects to ensure the best offers from the companies for our students. As most of our students belong a rural background, many parents often feel reluctant to send their daughters to go for work after education. We have always taken a head over heels approach to augment the lives of our girl students with jobs, so that they can lead a fulfilling life,” states M Chandrashekar.

Speaking about the future roadmap of the SVES, M Chandrashekar further adds, “Apart from incorporating technically advanced courses in our curriculums such as big data, IoT, AI, ML, Data Science and more to empower our students, we will also try to benefit the local economy by encouraging our students to mentor and provide technical assistance to local industries. Introducing post-graduation courses such as MTech is also in pipeline. We are continuously evolving as a technical institution of excellence, where students from rural backgrounds, both boys and girls, can avail these contemporary facilities and excel in their life.”
