For those students who need help with their courses, Seneca's academic advisors and learning centres provide workshops, tutoring, one-on-one sessions, exam preparation and online learning supports. As well, Seneca's Student Mentoring in Life & Education (SMILE) is a unique peer-to-peer mentoring program that connects newer students with a senior student in the same program area who can provide guidance. As well, each year, Seneca offers millions of dollars in scholarships and bursaries based on academic achievement and financial need. These awards range in value from $500 to $5,000 are awarded based on academic achievement and financial need.

During the current global COVID-19 pandemic, where education at all levels has been adversely affected, the Canadian government has granted Seneca approval to welcome international students into Canada. Asymptomatic international students who are in possession of a valid study permit or letter of introduction are able to come to Canada and study at Seneca. Aspiring students will need to comply with Seneca's approved COVID-19 readiness plan and complete a quarantine plan before attempting to travel to Canada.

With extensive experience in the public, private and non-profit sectors, David Agnew became the fifth president of Seneca in July 2009. Under his leadership, Seneca has experienced record growth in enrolment and expanded its offerings in both undergraduate and graduate programs. He was also the Secretary to the Cabinet and head of the public service in the Government of Ontario, Canada from 1992 to 1995 after serving as Principal Secretary to the Premier.
