Dr. P. Shankar,PrincipalMost job seekers realize the issue in lack of industry-oriented curriculum only after they complete their education and face rejection in job interviews. Many companies don’t show up for placements having found loopholes in an institute’s curriculum. Proving an instrumental role and a very proactive attitude in this aspect, Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology (AVIT), steps forward with its innovative curriculum that empowers its students to offer more than what is required. Established in 1998, AVIT adeptly addresses current industrial needs by enriching its curriculum with latest engineering & software tools via electives (designed by Infosys, Virtual Instrumentation & the like) & mini projects.

AVIT was an affiliated institution under the University of Madras and later affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. In 2004, the institution attained the status of university under the ambit of Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation, Salem. With a teaching staff of 134 and non-teaching of 131, AVIT imparts quality education to its 1475 students under U.G, P.G and PhD courses in Bio Technology, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and communication Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Management Studies, English and Mathematics.

Renowned for facilitating its students of Biotechnology department to build a rewarding career, its biotechnology curriculum covers all principles necessary for advancements and includes new biology like Nano-biotechnology, Bio pharmaceutical Technology, Molecular modelling and drug designing, Stem cell biology, Cancer biology and Genetic engineering. The department has excellent laboratories equipped with the latest instruments with the state-of-art quality and faculty members with inherent experience in both teaching and research.

Besides building a unique curriculum to enable students face the global and national demands, the institute also exposes its students to number of subjects, which would help them to be self-developed,self-motivated and conscious about the society and the environment. Moreover,
Industrial internship and National level symposium are also organized by every department to help students prove their leadership quality and organizing capability.
