Nursing as a profession is gaining increasing influence in all aspects of healthcare provisions, hence it is important to ensure the professionals’ quality rather than the quantity. However, competent the doctors are or whatever advanced technology is used, unless supported by a skilled & dedicated nursing staff, a complete patient care is not possible. With a vision to impart ‘love for care’, Narayana College of Nursing, under the Narayana Group of Educational institutions, was established in 2002 at Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. Apart from enabling the students to develop leadership skills at an early stage in their careers, Narayana College of Nursing’s prime concern is to impart ethical values of the noble profession.

This overachiever has already received accreditation for PhD program in Nursing and is the only private nursing college in Andra Pradesh offering the same. Supported by innovative teaching methodologies and latest infrastructure & equipment (mental health Nursing lab, computer lab, LCD-enabled classrooms, latest AV aid techniques with modern simulations labs and more), the college’s periodically updated curriculum plays a crucial role in
moulding the professionals. Research being the buzz word at Narayana College of Nursing, the college insists all students on submitting their research works and assists them with its library having NTR MED NET membership. In fact, the college has more than five faculties holding PhD degrees and even sponsored students for persuading PhD. No wonder, the institute has already bagged many prestigious awards, including Best Nursing College in South India-2018 by International Accreditation Authority, Top 10 Promising Nursing College in India by Higher Education Review - 2017 and Best College of Nursing in AP - 2014 by World Wide Achievers.

With the 1700 bedded parent hospital – Narayana General Hospital and Narayana Super Speciality Hospital (along with a hostel & 1200-seater central auditorium with A/C) in the same campus, the students are given training in practical hospital management too. Post successful completion of the course, 80 percent of the students are placed in the parent hospitals, while the rest often get placed in foreign
countries like Canada, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UK, New Zealand, Malaysia, Germany, Ireland, and Australia. In fact, most of the nursing staff in Govt. services are from Narayana College of Nursing, Nellore.

Ensuring Overall Development
The college that has MOU with various foreign Universities, including MAINE University, Orono, U.S., St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College, Ababa, Ethiopia and LINCOLN University College, Malaysia, also hosts student exchange programs. Practicing a student centered learning method, it also regularly conducts faculty improvement programs like skill development workshops, seminars & conferences along with unit wise & online based exams. Not just academic growth, Narayana College of Nursing also focuses on the extracurricular activities, including sports (students have even reached national level), awareness campaigns, and CSR activities (has adopted a village).

The college also publishes a quarterly journal ‘Narayana Nursing Journal’ (ISSN 2278-5361) and has enrichment programs, which help the students to keep updated about the latest technologies in nursing. With all these effective methodologies supporting their overall development, unsurprisingly many of its students secure University ranks below 10, distinctions, and first classes every academic year. Narayana College of Nursing formed alumni Association with first batch 2006 onwards and SNA and NSS activities are functioning as per academic schedules. In future, the college is gunning for NAAC A+ accreditation as well.
