To befit the paradigm of expert medico, experience in experimentation with ace technical skills is a must; but for graduates and many professionals, the task becomes incredibly difficult as they lack laboratory experience and practice. Since the Indian CRO market is expected to grow at CAGR of 30 percent, twice as fast as the global CRO industry over the next 3 years, this growth is further widening the employment gap between industry expectations and talent from academia. Predicting this fracturing scenario in 2007 itself, S.M.Z Ahamed Kabeer (Managing Director) established International Drug Discovery and Clinical Research (IDDCR) to bridge the knowledge and experience gap between academia and BioPharma industry in the Drug R&D space. It combines training framework and collaborative efforts with the industry requisites to create career paths for professionals and bring in the convenience of hands-on experimentation and information technology to help them emerge as intellectuals.

Having emerged into a well-known clinical & healthcare academic research organization upskilling industry-ready workforce, IDDCR has served global pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry by providing training in clinical research, biostatistics, data management and drug discovery
solutions. Affiliated with AICTE and Oracle University, the institute introduced India's first Post Graduate Program with integrated work experience in Clinical Data Science domain and offers one-of-its-kind industry recognized hands-on practical training programs. What unfurls the flag of excellence is its expertise in corporate collaboration for best practices and curriculum design along with proffering advanced education from renowned institutes.

Functional Training & Research Viaduct
Students, registered under Professional Development Program (PDP), are trained to strengthen their understanding of Clinical Data Science in a span of six-twelve months. This program encompasses Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Data Science (Clinical & Healthcare space), Diploma in Clinical Biostatistics (Clinical Data Analysis and Reporting), Diploma in Clinical Data Management & Biostatistics (cross techno-functional skill development) and Diploma in Pharmacovigilance Data Management (Pharmacovigilance & Drug Safety management). Provided that industry professionals require a curriculum that also entails business principles, IDDCR commenced a unique program, Professional Transition Program (PTP) that involves an understanding of good
practices pertinent to new therapeutic product research and development industry. Upgrading professionals to industry's requirements, these programs are designed as per CDISC and FDA Compliance, certified by globally recognized technology leaders, and give access to technical modules, tools and trial data handheld by subject matter experts who endow them with real-time problem-solving skills.

Collaborative Efforts towards Upskilling
With its dexterity in research and training, IDDCR has served multiple top-tier MNCs, Biopharma and clinical research providers including GSK, Novartis, Novo Nordisk, Parexel, Cognizant, Accenture, TCS, and many more. Citing the association with Hetero Drug, Ahamed adds, “Our regulatory & medical writing corporate training services helped their medical writers master clinical research documentation, regulatory submission and carry out other publications with proficiency”. To update its faculty with latest technologies and industry scope, it has established tie-ups with Clinical & health care groups like ACRP, IASCT, SCDM and ISCR.

IDDCR has initiated University Integration Program, which enables universities to integrate this program as part of their final year curriculum to speed up candidate’s learning process and Faculty Development Program, a Clinical Data Science awareness program for pharmacy, Life science lecture and faculty working with college and universities. Adhering to 21 CFR Part 11, CDISC and Global FDA Regulations, the institute has mapped consistent growth with a turnover of Rs.3 crore this year and envisions escalating these prospects around 75 percent by 2020.
