Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global leader in offering IT Services & Consulting, announces a partnership between its strategic unit TCS iON, and the Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) to re-imagine and scale ASDC's initiatives to identify potential candidates, equip them with the necessary skills, and match them with appropriate job opportunities in the auto sector.
As part of this new partnership, TCS iON will work closely with the Skill Council to gather in-depth insights about the current dynamic workforce requirements of the industry and accordingly develop classroom and digital learning modules based on its unique `Phygital' Learning Methodology. The Digital Assessment Platform will help conduct knowledge and skill assessments and an intelligent algorithm will carefully match the skilled youth to the right jobs, at speed and scale. Additionally, TCS iON will also bring ASDC's training partner ecosystem onto the same platform and help the Council manage affiliations, enhance quality of delivery, and improve transparency.

"We are pleased to be associated with ASDC to digitally reimagine their training, skilling, and placement initiatives. Our digital learning, assessment and process management platforms will help impart skills at scale and address an important national priority, which is to create a skilled workforce and generate employment. This partnership between TCS iON and ASDC sets a precedent and serves as a role model for all the other sector Skill Councils in the country, which are looking to make a meaningful impact," says Venguswamy Ramaswamy, Global Head, TCS iON.
ASDC is now the first Sector Skill Council (SSC) to embrace digital transformation for the way Skill Council operates in India. This latest partnership with TCS iON is foreseen to attract a multitude of value additions for ASDC such as standardization of processes, digital affiliation and audit trails for better control and integration. Additionally, ASDC will receive active support for this trans-formation from Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA), and the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA).
Nikunj Sanghi, Chairman, ASDC adds, "We at ASDC are very excited about our partnership with TCS iON. Their expertise in skilling, coupled with industry-leading digital technology prowess will enable us to achieve our purpose of continually developing and upgrading Automotive Skills through skilling and up-skilling. This endeavor will focus on creating an automated digital assessment process, a digital learning hub, and a listing platform for jobs and candidates. Fully supported by the auto industry, this will enable us to meet the objectives and aspirations of all stakeholders, (including job aspirants, employers and the Government) towards meeting Skill India/Make in India objectives by creating value additions through Skilling/Up-Skilling for Human Capital creation and enhancement which would lead to more economic activity and consequent additional jobs".
