Managing Director

As the education sector is witnessing rapid changes, it is becoming increasingly important to innovate and be creative & progressive in approach, fine-tuned with the changing trends in global education and leadership. Most importantly, educational leadership must not overlook the importance of instilling strong moral values among children for the upliftment of the society, which is easier said than done in this age of technology. Imparting a quality education inexplicably intertwined with such core values calls for a progressive leader who is willing to learn, courageous enough to take risks, highly disciplined, and above all grounded in values and family with faith & trust in God. Serving as the perfect archetype for a perfect equilibrium of all the above qualities is Grace Pinto, Managing Director, Ryan International Group of Institutions.

With humble beginnings nearly four decades ago, the Ryan Group is today a vibrant network of more than 135 K-12 schools serving to nearly 3,00,000 students and parents in 18 states of India. Grace has played an instrumental role in successfully taking quality education even in towns such as Shajahanpur in UP, Jalna in Maharashtra, Bolpur in Kolkata and Durg-Dhamtari in Chattisgarh, yielding encouraging results. Unsurprisingly, Ryan Group of Schools has been consistently ranked among the top schools providing national and international curricula in the country by numerous C-fore surveys conducted by Times of India, Education World, Digital Learning, Brainfeed and Hindustan Times.

“We attribute our journey and success in the field of education to our Lord Jesus Christ who has empowered and enabled us to provide value based holistic education throughout the country. The organizational vision and our anchorage in Christ compel us to make a continuous effort to make a worthwhile contribution to the lives of thousands of children and staff across the nation. We are also grateful to Dr. A. F. Pinto, Chairman, for his vision and courage to take the very first step nearly four decades ago, placing his complete trust in God,” quotes Grace. Under the aegis of Grace, Ryan Schools are serving the need of the nation with their state-of-the-art quality education nurturing value laden leaders.

Cultivating Holistic Development of Qualities
Being a pioneer, running a gigantic educational group involves challenges of varied and complex nature all along the path. However, they have only strengthened Grace to emerge as a confident leader in the education sector, apart from helping her align her efforts to the group’s vision and stay grounded & rooted in her values & faith. Today, the group is an established name recognized all over the globe known for its excellence in education.

Grace has always ensured that the group’s pedagogy is integrated with values. Faith in God and respect to elders, along with value of giving is stressed upon in all of her schools. Through her institutions, Grace strives to cultivate all-round development of qualities in a student through excellence in education that shall foster academics, understanding, brilliance, spiritual well being, physical development, psychological strengths, resourcefulness, creative skills, social responsibility and concern for one’s environment. “Our vision is to be a premier global educational institution which develops the human resource for our dynamic and expanding community, the state, the nation, the region and the world at large,” proclaims Grace.

A Pioneer in the Truest Sense
Being a strong proponent of the inculcation of 21st Century skills, Grace ensures that the group excels in imparting future-ready skills like collaboration, critical thinking, communication, research and so forth. In fact, concepts such as ‘No examination and use of assessment’, a norm in the CBSE format today, have been in practice within Ryan Group for a long time. Ryan schools are focused on integrating digital pedagogies, the professional development of teachers, a suitable curriculum, classroom management techniques, and more, to add value to the entire educational experience.

Along with academic excellence, under the able guidance of Grace, the Group has pioneered several path-breaking initiatives and innovations of international caliber. The Group was the first in the country to host the International Children’s Festival, where every year, over 12,000 student participants from over 30 countries come together on one platform to learn different cultures, establish camaraderie and nurture international friendship. Indian Model United Nations (INMUN) is yet another international event hosted by the Ryan Group that witnesses participation of over 1500 delegates from South Asian countries. Besides arranging International Exchange Programmes with institutions based in the US, Italy, Switzerland, Australia, Germany, and UK, the Ryan Group
has also signed a MOU with PENNHUB to provide higher education opportunities to its students.

Pioneers in the truest sense, Ryan Schools are the only schools offering Media Studies with full-fledged TV studios (Ryan TV), where children are provided programmes to learn about media studies, TV journalism, film making and camera handling. Not cutting down on the sports front, the group has collaborated with the best in the industry to bring world-class coaching to children. Music, art, drama, debates and competitions are a regular feature in its school calendar as well. “We have been successfully hosting prestigious events like The World Scholar’s Cup to develop leadership qualities and has introduced reputed Cambridge Assessment English to make English enjoyable, effective and rewarding, and First In Math to encourage children to explore, think logically, learn, and build a love for Math,” reveals Grace.

The Strings to her Bow
Being at the helm of such a behemoth of an institution demands a lot of sacrifice and time! Managing multiple roles simultaneously gets even more challenging when spearheading an ever-growing brand, as the work continually keeps growing. Fortunately, Grace has an extremely supporting family who understands the greater need out there and supports her to give her best to the cause of education. “Balancing family and work is an ongoing journey, but I am grateful that I am able to be with my family when I need to be. I strongly believe that a family that prays together stays together,” asserts Grace.

A gardening enthusiast who also enjoys cooking for her family and spending quality time with them, Grace regularly makes time to visit old age homes & orphanages and spends time with underprivileged as well. Reading and catching-up on newer trends in the education sector is yet another favorite pastime of Grace.

Grace has always ensured that the group’s pedagogy is integrated with values, wherein Faith in God and respect to elders, along with value of giving is stressed upon in all of her schools

Enduring the group’s legacy of shaping lives and developing global citizens, Grace intends to continue to live Ryan Group’s vision and provide education that prepares the youth to face life’s realities and challenges, while continuing to be lifelong learners in order to reach one’s rightful place in the modern world.
