Sajjan George
Life Coach
Personal Journey & Defining Moment
Sajjan George’s story illustrates how purpose builds up over time. He has over 26 years of experience in India and the US, across various domains such as training, operations, HR, government, and NGO. He understood that professional success alone was not leading to true happiness. Several individuals he met, students, young professionals, and senior leaders, were successful externally but remained empty internally. He states, “I saw people thriving on paper, but on the inside, they were struggling. I wanted to assist them in discovering that piece of purpose that was lacking”. So he quit his corporate career to work as a full-time life coach, mentor, trainer, and facilitator.
Sajjan George’s coaching is remarkable due to his transformational and integral approach. He feels that each individual is an integrated being of body, soul, and spirit. Therefore, he does not concentrate on one aspect, such as career or relationships. For coaching, he uses the ‘Leading with Questions’ approach to help the individual dig deeper within. This enables the coachee or client to discover the solutions on their own.
For his trainings, he employs dynamic group activities and experiential learning methodologies of facilitation that involve learning by doing. His programs assist students in developing self-awareness and determining their life purpose, potential, and passion, and help them connect it all together to discover the big picture of life, along with equipping them with holistic life skills. For corporate executives, his coaching is never about performance. He assists them in balancing team dynamics, stress management, and developing authentic leadership. He establishes a safe environment in which individuals feel at ease in telling him their challenges and aspirations.
Insights from the Journey of Continuous Learning & Growth
Sajjan George is a firm believer in lifelong learning and development. Though he has years of experience, he always makes sure to invest in developing his skills and broadening his knowledge. He has multiple certifications to his credit in Training, Coaching, Facilitation, Family Counseling, and Psychometric Assessments. He is also an IICA-certified Independent Director. He keeps himself abreast of changing trends in technology, workplace culture, and the coaching industry. Having multiple hats as an author, coach, mentor, and director comes with the need for distinct boundaries and daily self-care.
He looks after his own mental health so that he can be fully there for his clients. All his performances complement each other, providing him with greater insights into how individuals develop and mature. However, to Sajjan George, the greatest reward is making people find their purpose. He takes pride in noticing that light-bulb or the enlightenment moment in someone’s eyes. To individuals who experience stress, he recommends beginning with small and consistent practices such as mindfulness, gratitude, and kindness towards oneself. These simple habits, over a period of time, create a solid foundation for a more harmonious and satisfying life. He redefines success as not titles or money, but as waking up every morning feeling excited and driven for the day, and having a sense of fulfilment and peace of mind at the end of the day.
Future Vision
Sajjan George foresees a promising future for coaching in India. He finds that the shame of seeking assistance, support, or help is gradually dissipating, and now people look at coaching as an investment for themselves and not as a weakness. According to him, coaching will become an integral part of not just corporate companies and businesses, but also for schools and colleges, and for all individuals from all walks of life in the near future. To business leaders, he raises the need for self-awareness and well-being. He views leaders as the fulcrum of any company and is convinced that when leaders are balanced and selfaware, their respective teams do well. His dream is to have coaching be as integral in all functions and industry verticals. His vision is to be one of India’s top potential coaches, not for fame but because he wishes for more people to find purpose and lead meaningful lives.
