Building on this vision, Padmabhushan Dr D. Veerendra Heggade, President of the SDME Society, recognized the need for a dedicated PreUniversity Science College for boys in Ujire. To meet the growing demand, the SDM Residential Pre-University College was established on 1st July 2003. Since its inception, the institution has earned recognition for the caliber and conduct of its students, who stand out wherever they go.
The college was conceived with a noble aim to extend quality pre university education to both rural and urban students at an affordable cost, within a residential setting that ensures focus and discipline. Guided by the principle of prioritizing quality over quantity, the college continues to shape young minds with strong academic grounding and character formation, preparing them for the challenges of higher education and beyond.

SDMR PUC stands apart for its exclusive focus on the Science stream. The institution offers well-structured combinations such as PCMB and PCMC, carefully designed for students aspiring to build careers in engineering, medicine, research, and pure sciences.
