At preschool, children build a strong foundation in social, pre-academic, and general life skills that will give them a leg up in school and beyond. Research shows that children who graduate from preschool have improved academic readiness, lower incarceration rates, and higher earnings. Preschools provide opportunities for children to learn in ways that interest them, building a positive association with learning. Launched in 2022, The Mulberry Bush is one of the fastest-growing preschools in Hyderabad. It offers a curated experience to each child to help them come into their own, with educationists from diverse backgrounds developing and applying more holistic techniques to learning.

Educationists need to identify areas of development and work on them according to the child's requirements. At The Mulberry Bush, imparting education is a healthy dialogue with the children that helps them remain curious and explorative. It offers its children a safe, hygienic, and secure learning environment under active supervision. It also organizes training for teachers/parents to understand the child from a 360-degree perspective and implement the right tools/techniques. The Mulberry Bush is the brainchild of Aruna Sunchu, an educationist with over 16 years of experience in early childhood education. She always felt there could be more to be done in educating preschoolers; though the concepts are marketed, they need to be put into practice too. “We work closely with the parents and actively collaborate with the psychologists to curate educational material for our children”, says Aruna Sunchu.

Holistic Approach towards Education
The Mulberry Bush's curriculum is a comprehensive childcentric curriculum with set objectives in all significant areas of development. Its play group programme is a small, friendly group for children aged two and over who can be left with qualified staff to learn, play together, and develop sensory, social, and communication skills. Children aged 3 to 4 are put in the pre-nursery programme, integrating academic materials and creative and thematic concepts to strengthen the foundation. The LKG programme is for children between 4-5 years who are involved in creative activities and quiet concentration, focusing on expanding language skills and developing a thought process. The UKG programme (5-6 years) prepares the child for an easy start and excellence in their school life ahead. Opportunities are provided to learn through carefully planned activities that challenge the child's language, maths, and science skills in addition to physical activities, music, and art. “By this age, our children are competent and confident to face everyday challenges and opportunities and are caring individuals”, shares Aruna.

The Mulberry School education teaches children how to learn instead of just what to learn

The Mulberry Bush is constantly working on its modules to offer the most updated experience to its children and holds regular reviews with the parents to share feedback. It offers Montessori along with a playway methodology of teachings. Children also enjoy the various extra curricular activities at the school, like music, dancing, sports, crafts, sketching, painting, and more. It also conducts events and field trips to help build background knowledge and vocabulary. The admission process is simple and transparent, aimed at giving an insight into the type of educational approach and environment appropriate for a child to maximize their potential. Admissions are granted on a first-come, first-served basis till seats are available, starting from the age of 18 months till six years of age.

Through its educational programmes, The Mulberry Bush aims to focus on child's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs to build a solid and broad foundation for lifelong learning and well being. It understands that each child is unique and requires focused educational interventions to develop and thrive.
