Dr. T James Wilson,ChairpersonAs per industry report exhibited by IBIS World Architectural Services, despite growing competition between integrated firms in construction building and engineering consulting industry, architectural sector is estimated to reach $7.1 billion in annual revenue from 2015-2020. This forecast shows that people are now being attracted towards much integrated service offerings especially those who provide in-house design capabilities. It is also noted that improved investment in residential and commercial building projects has strengthened the conditions of architecture and design firms. Additionally, Sigma undertake projects of leading enterprises (amounting close to Rs.1crore per year) wherein they communicate the requirements in terms of construction activities at subsidized rates, but it comes to student’s advantage in receiving practical training and team building. The in-house consultancy firms running parallel to educational institution help novice architects visit off-site ongoing projects receive professional training and placements. Also, students and faculty members including the management heads gain practical experience while on international tours to countries like Malaysia, Srilanka, Nepal, etc.

We not only give importance to academics, but expose our students to practical training & internships as part of curriculum to develop architectural insights

After obtaining architecture degree, you learn the unique blend of Design, Culture, and Science. However, Sigma accentuates this architectural connection by providing additional certifications in courses like Photoshop, 3D Studio Max, Auto CAD, REVIT Architecture, Archi CAD, Sketch Up, etc. thus amalgamating technology tools with architecture. Unlike other traditional colleges hailing outdated study halls & libraries delivering uptight education, Sigma’s ace infrastructure is spread across three acres of land and equipped with Hostels, Gymnasium, Climatology lab, Central Library, Open Air Theatre, Guest House, Ultra Modern Studios, Art Museum, Creativity Studio, Model Making Workshop, Construction Yard, Air conditioned Conference and Seminar Hall, Lift and Material Museum, to name a few. “Since students are given lot of projects in order to develop hands on experience, we collect those materials and set up in our art gallery,” adds Dr. James Wilson. Under the shade of vibrant and lively campus, students indulge in extra-curricular activities including NSS, Rotary club, Photography club, Youth Red Cross club, Auto-Desk Design Academy, Food Festivals, Music Club, Sports, Arts, Symposiums, Technical Events, Blood Donation Camps, Art Competitions, etc. for social empowerment and the budding architects galvanize their taste buds in food festivals conducted occasionally.
Architectural Tree with Future Branches
An architect's prowess expands catering to several domains of design, construction and architecture.
