The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has once again proven its academic strength by earning top positions in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025, announced by the Ministry of Education. UoH ranked 18th in the University category, 26th overall, 32nd in the Research Institutions category, and 70th among Engineering institutes across India.

The NIRF rankings are based on five key areas of Teaching, Learning and Resources (TLR), Research and Professional Practice (RP), Graduation Outcome (GO), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI), and Perception (PR). These parameters help determine how institutions perform nationally.

Reacting to the results, UoH Vice Chancellor Prof. B J Rao said he was pleased with the rankings but noted that there’s room for improvement. “The rankings reflect our commitment to excellence, but we must do much better”, he stated. He praised the hard work of the faculty, students, and staff, and highlighted the university’s focus on building a strong culture of research, innovation, and inclusivity.
