  • Rishihood University launches MaNaS to transform psychology, mental health, and behavioural sciences in India.
  • Students will gain real world experience from Year 1 through internships with hospitals, NGOs, startups, and schools.
  • The program combines modern neuroscience, technology, and Indic knowledge under expert guidance.

Rishihood University has launched the Mahesh Navani School of Brain, Body, and Behaviour (MaNaS), a bold initiative aimed at reshaping how India approaches mental health, psychology, and behavioural education. The school was formally inaugurated by Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi and Chancellor Suresh Prabhu, with over 150 distinguished guests in attendance, including entrepreneurs, social leaders, and education experts.

MaNaS will give students hands on learning opportunities from the very first year, with structured internships at hospitals, NGOs, startups, and educational institutions. This early exposure is intended to bridge the gap between academic theory and real world application.

The school will also house the Human Augmentation Lab (HAL), where learners will explore the intersection of psychology, neuroscience, and emerging technologies. Tools like wearables, cognitive devices, and behavioural sensors will help students understand human behaviour in modern, data driven ways.

Professor Kanika Kohli, who blends expertise in both science and Indic knowledge systems, will lead MaNaS, aiming to build it into a global centre of excellence. The curriculum is designed not only to train psychologists but also to nurture empathetic leaders who can apply behavioural insights across fields.

Speaking at the launch, Kailash Satyarthi stressed the urgent need to address mental health issues, calling MaNaS a space for “courageous minds and compassionate hearts”. Chancellor Prabhu highlighted the school’s vision to solve root level societal issues through integrated learning focused on the brain, body, and behaviour.

Vice Chancellor Shobhit Mathur added that MaNaS reflects the university’s mission to create change makers grounded in Indian values but equipped for global challenges.
