NSDC, Ethnotech, and Cambridge Press Partner to Boost Future Skills in India
In a groundbreaking move to enhance India's workforce readiness for emerging technologies, the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), in collaboration with Ethnotech Academy and Cambridge University Press & Assessment, has inaugurated the Centre for Future Skills. This cutting-edge facility aims to bolster technology infrastructure and provide expert guidance on the latest advancements to higher education institutions (HEIs) across the country.
The Centre for Future Skills is envisioned as a dynamic hub for innovation, equipping students with critical skills in a rapidly evolving tech landscape. By forging partnerships with academic and corporate leaders, the initiative seeks to align educational outcomes with industry demands, providing a crucial platform for student success and career readiness.
The event underscored the importance of collaboration between NSDC, Ethnotech Academy, and Cambridge University Press & Assessment, highlighting the role of these partnerships in tackling current challenges and devising solutions in emerging technologies. Key areas covered by the technology infrastructure include Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), Data Analytics, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR), Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Internet of Things (IoT), Industrial/Home Automation, Robotic Process Automation, and Semiconductor Design.
Nitin Kapoor, Vice-President of NSDC, emphasized the initiative's role in India's skill development journey. "This advancement is crucial as we aim to position India as the Skill Capital of the World", Kapoor said. "Upskilling is no longer a luxury but a necessity. It empowers individuals to remain relevant and adapt to technological changes. NSDC International is pivotal in addressing the global skill gap, with the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) serving as the go-to platform for all skilling needs".
