With a drive towards empowering women in emerging technologies, India is stepping up Artificial Intelligence (AI) training and education across the nation, more so in women's colleges.
As per an official statement of the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has broadened its AI-infused curriculum by adding core and elective courses in AI to both undergraduate and postgraduate technical courses including those not conventionally related to computer science.
To help teachers stay on par with the fast-paced technological evolution, the AICTE has also initiated faculty development programs and AI workshops. On campuses, student hackathons are being organized to promote peer learning, experiential learning, and greater awareness of AI applications.
Again to promote women's participation in AI and technology, the government is still offering scholarships such as PRAGATI and Saraswati for diligent women engineering students.
