• IIM Raipur conducted a two-day workshop to advance its pursuit of AACSB international accreditation.

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur recently conducted a two-day workshop with a goal to further pursue AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) International accreditation. The effort is a part of the institute's overall strategy to align its academic culture with international standards to enhance its image and promote international partnerships.

The workshop was facilitated by Geoff Perry, Executive Vice President and Chief Officer for Asia Pacific, Americas, and Membership at AACSB International, and Prathap Das, Regional Head for South Asia. Perry, with his rich academic background and international outlook, shed light on the intricacies of accreditation, while Das provided advice contextually relevant to the South Asian environment of higher education.

For all the members of the faculty, the program aimed to familiarize them with AACSB standards and applying the Assurance of Learning (AoL) model. The program members worked on exercises to create rubrics and structure feedback loops, working towards continually enhancing curriculum and pedagogy. The program is built around fostering a culture of active student learning engagement, linking program-level objectives with IIM Raipur's mission, and developing strong processes for curriculum development.

Professor Sanjeev Prashar, Director-in-Charge of IIM Raipur, emphasized the importance of such workshops in defining the institute's educational strategy. He stressed that education can be considered a dynamic process of reflection, alignment, and enhancement.

Gaining AACSB accreditation, he added, would not only enhance the academic quality of offerings but also enhance the institute's global reputation and alliances. This workshop is an important milestone in IIM Raipur's endeavor to provide world-class education.

By conforming to global standards, the institute wants to develop leaders who are intellectually equipped, internationally applicable, and ethically sound. Emphasis on perpetual improvement and international interaction reflects IIM Raipur's passion for excellence in management education.
