
IIM Raipur and Singapore Explore Joint Programs and Research in Education and Innovation

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur, along with IIT Bhilai and NIT Raipur, held a high level meeting with representatives from the Consulate General of the Republic of Singapore to strengthen academic and research ties. The discussions aligned with the 60th anniversary of India-Singapore diplomatic relations and aimed to deepen cooperation in education, innovation, and future ready skills.
The Singapore delegation, led by Mr. Jerome Wong, Consul (Political) and Ms. Ericka, met with directors and senior faculty members of the three premier institutions. The dialogue explored opportunities to introduce joint academic programs, launch dual degrees, and expand student exchange initiatives with universities in Singapore.
The institutions also discussed Singapore’s support in developing collaborative research in fields like technology, digital infrastructure, and education. Given Chhattisgarh’s growing industrial presence, officials discussed the potential to develop the state into a hub for semiconductor research and data centers, areas in which Singapore has proven expertise.
The meeting also focused on enabling partnerships between Indian and Singaporean universities, industries, and policy institutions, to create globally relevant solutions and programs. Leaders on both sides emphasized the importance of combining India’s innovation focused education system with Singapore’s skill-based training and advanced research.
The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony at IIM Raipur and a shared commitment to building a roadmap for collaborative initiatives that contribute to mutual growth and sustainable development.
