Originating amidst a period of severe grain scarcity, IHM Mumbai emerged from a commendable initiative aimed at raising awareness about alternative grains and conservation endeavors in India. Guided by visionaries such as Lilavati Munshi, Thrity Taleyarkhan, and Leela N Jog, the institute embarked on its journey with humble beginnings, initially offering a one-year program to six pioneering students. Over time, IHM Mumbai diversified its curriculum, introducing diploma and degree programs to meet the dynamic needs of the ever-evolving hospitality industry.

Acknowledged for its dedication to quality, IHM Mumbai has earned esteemed honors, such as the Times Education Award for the Finest Hotel Management Institute and acknowledgment from India Today.
