The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur), has unveiled a new online education platform called Self-Assessment Test and Help for Entrance Exams (SATHEE). This platform aims to assist students in preparing for competitive exams in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) and to achieve sustainable development goals.

SATHEE offers video lectures from faculties of IITs and IISc for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE) aspirants. “The platform has commenced with its first 45-day JEE crash course, designed to provide intensive preparation and revision in a short period, ideal for students looking to consolidate their learning before exams,” the ministry said.

The platform was recently launched in an event at Shastri Bhawan by K Sanjay Murthy, Secretary of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education. The platform will be available in English, Hindi, and various regional languages to help students overcome language barriers. The event was attended by S Ganesh, Officiating Director of IIT Kanpur; Govind Jaiswal, Joint Secretary of the Education Ministry; Sanjay Kumar, Secretary of School Education, Ministry of Education, and Amey Karkare, Principal Investigator of the SATHEE project.

The platform will also host a series of intensive, expert-designed learning modules along with novel features like an interactive chatbot. It will also organize regular doubt-clearing sessions led by students from IITs and AIIMS. "The outreach of SATHEE marks a significant step towards enhancing accessibility to education in India. This platform opens up new avenues for students preparing for competitive exams, offering quality resources and support. Our goal is to ensure that every student, irrespective of their location or financial situation, has the opportunity to excel in their academic pursuits. SATHEE is a testament to our commitment to educational equity and excellence", S Ganesh said.
