The Education Minister, Botcha Satyanarayana, announced that the State government is currently in discussions with industry representatives to ensure that graduating students can secure paid internships. He made this statement while officially launching a 'Career Guidance Toolkit' specifically designed for students in various disciplines within the higher education sector by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). The Minister commended the Council's commendable efforts and highlighted the distinctive feature of this toolkit, emphasizing its proactive approach to guiding and supporting students from the beginning of their undergraduate program until graduation. Unlike the conventional practice of providing career guidance only in the penultimate or final year, this toolkit aims to actively assist and mentor young learners throughout their academic journey.

“It provides students with semester-wise action plans, elucidates the essential skills required to acquire domain expertise, and underscores the importance of cultivating soft skills", he said. APSCHE officials explained that the career toolkit equips students with the necessary resources, skills and strategies to effectively navigate their academic and professional journey, helps them identify their strengths, weaknesses, interests and values and facilitates self-discovery helping the students in the selection of suitable career path.

The toolkit equips students with interview preparation skills, enabling them to confidently express their experiences, skills, and goals during job interviews. Additionally, it nurtures an entrepreneurial mindset by offering tools to students who are keen on launching their ventures or making contributions to innovative projects within established organizations.

Principal Secretary J. Syamala Rao from the Department of Higher Education, along with APSCHE Chairman K. Hemachandra Reddy, Vice-Chairman K. Rama Mohan Rao, Vice-Chairperson P. Uma Maheswara Devi, Secretary Y. Nazeer Ahammed, and other officials were in attendance.
