BITS Pilani with Partners, Secures SATHI Project for Research Works

BITS Pilani, in collaboration with its cluster partners, has been granted the SATHI (Sophisticated Analytical and Technical Help Institute) project by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. This project entails a generous grant of Rs. 60 crores, dedicated to establishing advanced research facilities at BITS Pilani. The institute aims to create a state-of-the-art instrument facility in Pilani, covering diverse fields such as material sciences, device manufacturing and development, and biopharmaceuticals. The partnership includes organizations like the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute Pilani, Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur, JK Lakshmipat University Jaipur, Vivekananda Global University Jaipur, and LNM Institute of Information Technology Jaipur.

Located in Pilani, Rajasthan, Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS Pilani) is a deemed university renowned for its focus on higher education and research in engineering and sciences. Having achieved the Institute of Eminence status, BITS Pilani is among the first six institutes in India to receive this recognition. The university boasts an exceptionally low acceptance rate of 1.47 percent, positioning it as one of the most exclusive technical universities globally.

The SATHI project aims to facilitate the establishment of shared and professionally managed services, along with a robust Science and Technology infrastructure at BITS Pilani. Funded by the DST, this initiative emphasizes efficiency, accessibility, and transparency, offering a comprehensive solution under one roof. The primary beneficiaries of SATHI include faculty, researchers, scientists, and students from both Host and User institutes. These institutes encompass academic institutions, universities, national laboratories, start-ups, manufacturing and engineering industries, SMEs, and R&D labs. The overarching goal is to enable continuous round-the-clock R&D activities with minimal downtime.
