Keeping with the Quality Policy of the Institute, AISSMS College of Hotel Management & Catering Technology provide a research oriented atmosphere and keep abreast with the latest trends in the hospitality industry. Atithya is one such activity that was initiated in the year 2009 to provide learning and improvement in a creative environment. Atithya was conceptualized with a vision to provide a platform to showcase young talent and encourage creativity, along with industry stalwarts to judge and provide invaluable insights. It is a pleasure to see Atithya take shape and grow exponentially in the 12 years of its existence.

This Year We are ready to unfold the 12th edition of Atithya – A reflection of hospitality, scheduled from 5th to 7th February 2020. This year the event promises to be very exciting as we up our ante and forge ahead with

new competitions testing the knowledge and skills of the participants.

Over the years this event has become bigger and better with renowned hospitality schools from India participating in more than 12 competitions in 3 days. We are also witnessing hospitality schools from other countries enquiring about the event with one team from Athelone Institute of Technology, Ireland already registering for the event.

The competitions will be based mostly on the operational areas of the hotel industry, testing not just the skills but also the leadership qualities of the students to lead from the front. This year we have introduced a competition called “Idea Manch” where participants will have to talk about one issue of social relevance and come up with the solution for the same. With this we hope to nudge the students towards a solution mode as a way of life. The competitions will be judged by the Industry experts who will also give tips to the participants and share their valuable experiences. This is a great networking platform for the budding hospitality professionals. On offer we have a winner, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner up trophy for each competition. The icing on the cake is the Champion Trophy for the Institute that scores the highest consolidated marks in the competitions.

The awards night is a theme based gala dinner night with fun and frolic and lots of entertainments. This year the students are excited to have the Casino theme and have started working on the décor and the menu to match. This event is patronised by the Pune Hoteliers’ Association and supported by Savitribai Phule Pune University.
