Amazon India entered a deal with the National Council of Educational Research and Training(NCERT) to improve students' access to educational textbooks.

Amazon India has partnered with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) to make NCERT books from Kindergarten to Class 12, as well as those for UPSC aspirants, accessible to students. This partnership is formalized through a Letter of Engagement, whereby NCERT books will be made available at Maximum Retail Price (MRP) across all serviceable pin codes in India. Authentic learning material should remain in the hands of the student.

The collaboration seeks to provide support in educational needs with updated textbooks at every doorstep across the nation. Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Education Minister, emphasized the importance of the initiative: "Quality education and ease of living are essentials for a robust and developed nation". This alliance will for the first time make authentic, affordable resources accessible to studentsand teachers, allowing them to easily navigate their educational journey and life. Amazon is enabling millions of students across the country to access education in a much easier way with NCERT textbooks on Amazon.in.

In addition to this, Amazon.in will collaborate with NCERT for bulk orders for the government bodies and educational institutions. This will streamline the procurement of huge quantities of textbooks. To get this done, NCERT has designated particular distribution vendors who would facilitate Amazon sellers in ensuring the delivery time is on track.

Additionally, a dedicated NCERT bookstore has been launched on Amazon.in, where the entire range of textbooks will be available in one place free of cost. The alliance between Amazon India and NCERT would create a more transparent and trustful education landscape while gifting millions of learners across the nation with high quality educational resources.
