Academia Accelerator, an Initiative by Microsoft India Strengthens the Need to Unite Academia & the IT Industry

SI TeamMicrosoft India, hosted AXLE 2018, a Microsoft and academia initiative for reinforcing the academia and IT industry in India. Microsoft along with the students and faculties of some of India’s top colleges have been working closely for this Microsoft Academia Accelerator Program. It showcases 16 top engineering projects from across campus hackathons over the year.

adding the layer of cutting-edge industry know-how to the existing Computer Science curriculum. The success of this program is testament to the great engineering talent we have in India.

Academia Accelerator, one of Microsoft’s most comprehensive campus engagement programs aimed at building a deep, long association between industry and academia makes sure that the company’s mission is to enable people realize their full potential. Solutions based on popular technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality were showcased at Microsoft campus in Hyderabad and the projects were shortlisted from 2000+ students participated across 16 colleges and built over 350 projects.

Microsoft’s key focus is on empowering students to think innovatively to craft solutions for real time challenges. Students will receive unparalleled hands on experience, guidance and mentorship from industry luminaries, to a future as an innovator, technologist or entrepreneur. The Academia Accelerator program acts as a bridge which enables Microsoft’s engagement with campuses through enrichment of Computer Science course curriculum and driving student innovation. With a series of code.fun.do hackathons, Microsoft gives students the freedom at partnering campuses an opportunity to work in team environments to build modern, real-world applications that leverage latest Microsoft platforms including Mobile and Cloud.
