At LIHM, there is a distinctive blend of enterprise-based skill training tuning around 65 percent (apart from university curriculum), wherein students are encouraged to opt industry-based skills beyond an internship by holding on-job training during their course. This initiative not only moulds students into
industry-ready professionals but also gives poor student their way of livelihood by making them self-dependent. Today, LIHM’s skill development is highly successful among rural as well as urban population and around 200 students are benefit under this program.
Moulding into Industry-Ready Professionals
Embedded with four key features, LIHM’s hospitality curriculum is a top notch higher than the rest. Having industry experts to deliver lectures on one end brushes the students with the industry facets, the institute’s study tours to different hotels and locations along with short-term vocational training and on-the-job training furthers this learning on a practical ground. The students are offered paid training at international 5 stars hotel outside India and even get placed there. “We have created WhatsApp group of hoteliers where they post their requirements. This initiative helped us place all our first and second batch students across 273 hotels,” adds Pooja Basera, Director - Operations, LIHM.
With adequate education & experience, students need impressive communication skill and pleasant personality to scale their career in this profession. LIHM not only manages separate communication laboratories

(comprising of modern kitchen, restaurants, electrical, refrigeration & computer hardware section, printing & secretarial labs, 5 star standard mock room and reception desk) aiding student to directly communicate with corporate experts but also inducts several soft skill and personality development programs along with formal education. To render optimal practical knowledge to its students, this new-age institute performs lots of modern & adult learning method, remedial classes and tutoring in order to impart extra knowledge. Affiliated to Swami Vivekanand Subharti and SHIATS University, and NSDC, LIHM allows its students to develop their interpersonal skills in the form of presentation, debate, elocution competition and educational tour.

It conducts counseling sessions at villages to uplift child education and create awareness about hospitality management as career option. “We are in the process of buying land and building the college and will continue our association with Don Bosco TechIndia at different cities. Meanwhile, we have introduced IT and management programs and started taking the admission for the same as they also forms the part of hospitality industry,” concludes Pooja.
