Varied Management Courses for Enhanced Employability
A management institution’s prime objective is to develop skills within its students in order to make them industry ready professionals. Amalgamating capability development through regular and add-on courses, ABS ensures enhanced employability for each of its students. The B-School offers two-year trimesterised full-time PGDM programs with various specializations in finance, marketing, HR, business analytics and digital marketing; a 15-month Executive PGDM and a three-year part-time PGDM. In order to enhance career prospects, students can pick dual specializations. ABS is all set to launch a PGDM program in Business Analytics and Data Science in its next academic year.

With the aim to enrich students with business orientation communication skills and professional competence, ABS offers additional certification courses such as Business English certification in association with Cambridge University to first year students for improving their linguistic performance. “Communication is a critical asset in the business world. We endeavor to train students in listening, speaking, reading and writing skills,” adds Dr. Raghu.

Additionally, second year students are offered NISM certification by Ascend Academy for finance discipline, digital marketing certification by Adonai Advertising for marketing, and mission HR certification by HUSYS Consulting for HR specialization. Students are also provided with Campus Recruitment Training to equip them with capabilities to face real challenges in the business field.

Implemented by a faculty with ample industry experience and international exposure, these
courses ensure industry-ready professionals. Hailing from top universities, IITs and IIMs, teachers on board leverage their practical understanding of corporate requirements to strengthen student skill sets. Armed with rich research experience in terms of guiding PhD research and research publications at national & international journals, faculty members at ABS have 17 PhDs collectively.

Faculty members are also deputed to attend management development programs, faculty development programs, workshops, seminars and conferences to acquire the latest knowledge and updates in the industry so as to eventually impart the best theoretical and practical knowledge to the students.

Comprehensive approach to Teaching-Learning
While ABS boasts of a state-of-the-art infrastructure that includes ultramodern classrooms, seminar halls, auditorium, well-stocked library, high bandwidth campus wide Wi-Fi connectivity, language laboratory, games & sports facility, cafeteria and much more, the B-School’s primary objective is to provide rich intellectual capital to its students. In its curriculum, ABS includes compulsory field work for each student, which is evaluated on the basis of data collection, interpretation, presentation and report writing skills. Survey projects and research projects are conducted as a part of market research in quantitative techniques and business research methods. Additionally, all students must undergo an eight week summer internship program. Student progress is evaluated on the basis of daily reports and three interim presentations by company and faculty guide alike. A subject expert guides students through Course of Independent Study (CIS) based on the secondary data collected on field.

“International Study Tours constitute a major part of the experiential ELTs at ABS and our intent is to provide students with practical global exposure,” explains Dr. Raghu. The college has signed MoUs for International Summer Internship programs with the PAX Private Limited, Mauritius. Additionally, ABS is on the way to crystallize MoUs with Heriot Watt University, Singapore, American University, Dubai, and Canadian University, Dubai by June 2020.

“We arrange for pre-placement talks to enlighten students about the employment and career prospects, and conduct a two week long campus recruitment program for all students,” says Dr. Raghu. An amalgamation of these varied steps result in ABS boasting of a stellar placement record. The college is now striving hard to achieve large number of tie-ups with various industries to boost placement opportunities at ABS.

The astute B-School is endeavoring to achieve the foremost position across all Indian B-Schools in terms of value for money. “We have a moderate fee of around Rs.2.75 lakh per year. Yet, we are providing top quality business education that perhaps no other business school is able to provide,” explains Dr. Raghu.
