The automobile industry is one of the core industries for the mechanical engineering graduates. The industry accounts for 7.1 percent of the country's gross domestic product. Automobiles and most machines that make our life easier run on fuel hence, fuels play a very critical role in our everyday life. Fuel testing is an essential part of mechanical engineering as a course or a subject and where everything works with the help of fuel, fuel testing becomes a prerequisite. Recognizing the opportunity and remaining ahead of competitors M Kumara swamy College of Engineering founded in the year 2000, has established a high tech Lab to take-up advanced research in fuel testing with funding assistance under AICTE MODROBS scheme. "Our fuel testing labs help Mechanical students to have cutting edge knowledge about the field. The lab has been a source of testing for industries across the country and has won several consultancy assignments," declares

The fuel composite testing lab has inspired many students from the college to take up research related to energy. A lot of research activities take place in the center of excellences that is established in the campus; the institution maintains a partnership with Intel and has established a lab with Intel Galileo Development Board. In the
Intel lab the students from electronics and coomunication not only engage in research activities but also take up advanced courses and many of the students complete their projects under the guidance of the industry experts. The institute maintains other industrial MoUs such as TCS for technical and soft skill training, Infosys for faculty and student development programmes and BSNL for internships and various other important training programs. The students from the electrical communication and instrumentation department get training on Mentor Graphics tools for electronic design automation. The training is very instrumental for the electrical communication and instrumentation department and it is made possible by the MoU the institution maintains with SIENNAECAD.

Through the various MoUs they retain, the institution provides the students with top notch technical and pre placement trainings. The trainings cover all areas from soft skills, technical know how to personality development. Experts from the industry train the students and prepare them for the interviews and the industry, the institute has full time placement officers, trainers and communication experts. The institution witnesses a huge surge of companies every year in the yearly placement drives. This year's drive was dominated by TCS who hired more than 100 students followed by Hinduja Global solutions with more than 90 students and Wipro with over 50 students. Other major recruiters include Accenture, CTS and Hexaware.
Successful Placements and research aside, the institution has the most qualified and experienced faculty who are equally involved in all the activities the students take up. They encourage the students to participate in various workshops, seminars and conferences and also help the students with their projects and papers to present in the seminars. The curriculum of the institution is designed keeping in mind the industry requirements and the current market trends. The students get to learn about the industry first hand from the various industrial visits and interactions they have with the help of the faculty. The industrial visits lets them see how the industry work and clear any doubts they have about the industry and the industrial interactions let the students get familiar with the people from the industry.
