Bhushan Madan Minase
Secretary
Established over a decade ago, Satyajeet International English School Mehkar is a sincere initiative of Bhushan Madan Minase, Secretary of Institution, aimed at providing quality education to many talented students who lacked access to educational opportunities in his hometown of Buldhana (Mehkar). With a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Industrial Electronics, Bhushan’s journey in education has been extensive. It began with the Matoshri Education Society, followed by Satyajeet B.Ed. College, Satyajeet College of Pharmacy(D.com and B.com) in Maharashtra, and culminated in the establishment of Satyajeet International English School Mehkar in 2011.
Focus on Excellence
The school focuses on holistic student development through high-quality teaching in a caring & supportive environment, emphasizing individual achievement. It started with a 125,000 sq. ft. campus for grades 1-10 and expanded to 12th grade in 2015, growing from eight initial students to 90-100 currently, with an average of 40 students per class. Approximately 13-17 students students from each graduating year enroll in recognized colleges, with 2-3 gaining admission to IIT Bombay and IIT Kharagpur, and around 11-14 entering Government Medical Colleges.
The school stands out for its application-based learning in 17 virtual classrooms and a practical-oriented curriculum. Starting in 6th grade, students engage in hands-on courses in Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics, aligning with the NEP 2020. To ensure conceptual clarity, the school conducts
weekly review sessions on Saturdays and addresses challenges on Mondays. Mock tests on Fridays help assess student strengths, while remedial classes provide additional support for those who need it. Additionally, the school conducts three unit tests throughout the year, leading up to a final exam.
Parents are also made to become a part of a student’s growth journey. The school hosts workshops for parents to enhance their understanding of subjects like math and science. Parents receive daily updates on their child’s homework, including topics, page numbers, and diagrams. They are encouraged to create a supportive study environment at home by reading together and being present to strengthen the learning atmosphere.
In line with its overall development program, the institution primarily follows the NCERT syllabus for student learning. The textbooks used include selections from Cambridge, Oxford, and Macmillan, covering languages such as Marathi, Hindi, and English. For practical subjects, students receive notes to practice their handwriting. This method emphasizes teaching students how to write reports, conduct analyses, and develop a solid understanding of practical concepts. The sports programs have also shown significant improvement, with both indoor and outdoor facilities available. Students can engage in activities such as carrom, chess, and badminton indoors, while outdoor sports include volleyball, javelin throw, discus throw, athletics, and cricket. This year, one of the 17-year-old students successfully made it to the under-17 category state-level team. Additionally, a 5th grade student has reached the division level in chess.
The school places a strong emphasis on infrastructure and facilities to enhance the learning experience. It features an e-library, two computer labs, a separate science lab, a language lab, and a mathematics lab. Additionally, there is a dedicated art hall where students can work on their artistic projects. The school has also created a special dining area that accommodates class-wise seating for 1,000 students during breakfast and lunch. Furthermore, the institution boasts an auditorium measuring 3,700 square feet for various programs and events. To ensure students have convenient transportation, the school operates its own fleet of 18 buses.
Constant Update Efforts for Quality Education Delivery
At Satyajeet International English School Mehkar, teacher professional development is prioritized and aligned with the academic schedule. Teachers undergo comprehensive training focused on CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) norms and a unique concept-based curriculum, with three to four training sessions provided for each teacher. A dedicated team monitors the teaching process through CCTV cameras in all classrooms, with 52 cameras specifically for CBSE activities, capturing both video and audio. This allows the school to assess teaching methods and student engagement while guiding teachers for improvement. Overall, this approach helps the school understand classroom dynamics and student performance.
Growth & Future Roadmap
The achievements of the students are a testament to the school’s success. However, in an effort to enhance its educational delivery, the school plans to incorporate AI into its processes. It recognizes that many students face challenges, and AI can help better understand their needs. Parents will be required to participate in scheduled activities at home on Saturdays and Sundays. Tests will be administered, and on Monday mornings, messages will be sent to parents highlighting areas where their child may need additional support and suggesting actions they can take.
Bhushan Madan Minase, Secretary, Satyajeet International English School Mehkar states, “Currently, we are managing everything manually, but starting this April, we plan to begin integrating AI into our educational support system. Classes are held from Monday to Saturday, and students will need to attend additional sessions on Saturdays”.
