Madras University welcomes applications for free education
The University of Madras has invited applications under free education scheme from poor students for pursuing degree courses in its affiliated colleges in the 2022-23 academic year.
As per the scheme, affiliated aided and self-financing colleges will offer free education to two students each.
"Preference will be given to economically backward students, orphans, children of widows and also first graduates of the family.
The annual income of the family seeking admission under free education scheme should not exceed Rs 3 lakh," the university said in a release.
The details about the applications and documents to be uploaded for the free education scheme are available on the university's website www.unom.ac.in.
The deadline for uploading applications with all necessary documents on the website is 15 days from the publication of Class XII results.
