Gone are the days, when kids used to just go to school come back home eat, play, and sleep. Today, with the increasing competitiveness children are loaded with various other activities to develop their skills to sustain and flourish in this world. Along with sport, curricular activities, and arts coding is also gaining traction thus, coding has become a new mantra among parents and educationalists. Citing this the central government’s New Education Policy has suggested incorporating coding from sixth grade. But, isn’t inducing coding to young kids too taxing for them? Certainly not. Well, Coding is just giving a set of instructions to computers or applications with their grammar, which could be learned easily with expert guidance. In fact, coding basics could be learned by a mere four to five year old who could even hardly spell or write a word.

Samaira Mehta, a 10-year-old turns out to be a CEO,founder, and inventor of a board game CoderBunnyz. This game teaches the very basic concept of coding such as sequencing, conditions, loops, functions, inheritance, stack, queue, and more for beginners. However, Samaira has conceptualized this game when she was just six years old after learning coding basics from the engineer father. She sells this game on her website and has also partnered with Amazon. Isn’t this instance is quite sufficient to highlight how early a kid could learn to code and how it could transform the kid’s future.

“I would say I already have it now because I am an entrepreneur. But I want to expand on that and I want to become an entrepreneur that helps people and does good for the community,” says Samaira. (Source: CNBC)

These words from a 10-year-old is definitely an inspiration for the other young minds to take up coding as a serious career option.

How learning Coding could Benefit Kids?
With advancing technology, certainly, the world would evolve more digitally on day to day basis. Thus, it is ideal for kids to learn computer coding skills, as these skills have a bright future presently and it would augment in the future as well. As an additional benefit, learning coding enables kids to develop programs and applications through which they could earn even without any degree. Therefore, even children could become financially independent at a very tender age. However, as the kid grows up it could either choose this field as a mainstream career or even opt for other career options and still code and program as a passion and continue to earn from it as well.
